COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT CORPORATION

Evendale Municipal Building, 10500 Reading Road, Evendale, Ohio

Recurring Business:
1. Approval of the minutes from the December 17, 2013 meeting with one correction was made on a motion by Jeff Albrinck and seconded by Dave Harwood. The motion passed with a 7 yes, 0 no.
2. Economic Development Update:
a. China Cooking/Hollywood Court Hotel, 10599 Reading Road: Property owner is having second thoughts on the sale. Council is deciding next steps.
b. Midwest College is leasing the second floor at Sports Plus, 10765 Reading Road.
c. The Hamilton County Transportation Improvement District, TID, is convening meetings to discuss the East Sharon Road Corridor. The City of Sharonville, County Engineer, and the Village of Evendale have been asked to participate. James Jeffers and Jack have attended two meetings and it appears the focus of the meeting is to deal with the Container Port truck traffic and facilitating a connection to Medallion Drive. This has been a discussion in past years and Jack will keep the CIC up to date on the meetings.
New Business:
Sean Balnes summarized the next steps in developing and marketing the Village’s tops three properties: #1 NE corner of Inwood Drive, #2 SE corner of Inwood Drive, and #3 SW Corner of I-75 and Glendale-Milford Road. He would like to see the Village market properties #1 and #2 together. He strongly suggested that the Village should invest in getting all these parcels shovel ready:
1. Consolidate parcels into single properties where appropriate;
2. Completing Alta Surveys and Geotechnical Studies;
3. Remove pavement, foundations and other structures on Area #3.
There was a discussion on the merit of approaching the City of Cincinnati about purchasing their firing range, 10139 Spartan Drive. It was agreed upon that Daren Hall with the Port Authority should initiate that conversation.
After a short discussion it was decided that it wasn’t necessary to form a smaller Executive Committee to manage any offers the Village may receive. The members agreed that it would be best if the entire CIC Committee be involved in that process.
It was decided that the Village should move forward with Sean’s suggestions to have an ALTA survey and geotechnical study performed for Area #3.
The next meeting was scheduled for Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 7:30 AM.
Dave Harwood made and Chris Schaeffer seconded the motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:30 PM
